About Ben

Dear Viewer,

Hello, I’m Ben Talatzko.  I’m 18, and live in South Eastern Wisconsin.  I like to do art!  It all started sophomore year after going through my parents’ divorce and moving around from house to house (4 times in 2 years to be exact).  Going to a private school, my drives grew longer and longer along with my time alone.  My current school at the time did not have a strong art department to say the least.  I spent my time drawing out anything that came to mind and then used sharpie to go over it for some contrast — this became my new obsession or style.  

Senior year (this year) I moved once again, but unlike all the other moves I transferred to a new school.  This school’s art department… phew… it was intense.  I signed up for the 2D studio art class, realizing that I was lacking some knowledge.  I had never painted, used pastels, or heard half the lingo that was spoken.  This class has challenged me greatly.  Looking at my first few pieces of the year (which are my pastel pieces on here), and then looking at my most recent pieces I was shocked.  If it weren’t for all the mishaps in my life: divorced parents, bankruptcy, foreclosure, moving like a gypsy- I would not have had the opportunity to push my talent to where I am today. Talents are discovered in some inconvenient ways.

I may not be amazing, but art is something I’d love to hold on to forever. 

What art do I do the most of?
-Before transferring, ya know teaching myself stuff…

      -Screen Printing Tee Shirts

      -Stencil Art/Graffiti

      -Using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

-Painting

-Ink Sketches

What else do I do?

-Play guitar, ukulele, sing, dabble on the synth and piano

-Watch a ton of movies/tv shows

-Read joke books at Barnes and Noble

-DJ school dances, weddings, etc for “Majic Enterprises”

-Chill with my homies (I’m a G)
